Camera, Biometric & Recovery Data Notice

Last updated: 3 July 2026

moonScan uses your device camera to estimate recovery-related physiological signals. We know this is sensitive. This page explains what happens during a scan in plain language.

1. Does moonScan use my camera?

Yes. A scan requires camera access.

Your browser or device will ask for permission before the camera is used.

2. Why does moonScan need my camera?

moonScan uses your camera to analyze subtle signal changes during the scan. These signals may help estimate wellness metrics such as heart rate, heart rate variability-style indicators where quality allows, scan quality, recovery state, readiness, and physiological strain.

3. Does moonScan diagnose health problems?

No.

moonScan is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, monitor, or predict disease.

moonScan provides wellness and recovery insights only.

4. Does moonScan identify me by my face?

moonScan is not designed for face recognition or biometric identification.

The scan may use face positioning and tracking to guide the scan and improve signal quality, but we do not use the scan to identify you unless we explicitly say so and have the necessary legal basis.

5. Does moonScan store my face video?

moonScan's preferred approach is to store extracted signals and diagnostics rather than raw video. Engineering must confirm actual production behavior before monetization.

If we ever need to store raw images or video for validation, debugging, research, or product improvement, we will ask for separate consent and explain the purpose, retention period, and deletion process.

6. What does moonScan store from a scan?

Depending on the product version, moonScan may store:

  • scan timestamp;
  • device and browser information;
  • scan duration;
  • extracted signal data;
  • estimated HR;
  • HRV-style metrics where quality allows;
  • scan quality indicators;
  • confidence level;
  • failure reasons;
  • recovery/readiness-related interpretations;
  • trend and baseline data;
  • technical diagnostics needed to improve reliability.

7. What can affect scan quality?

Scan quality can be affected by:

  • movement;
  • changing light;
  • camera quality;
  • face position;
  • posture;
  • talking during the scan;
  • poor framing;
  • low signal quality;
  • unstable device performance;
  • background lighting;
  • browser or device limitations.

A failed scan does not mean anything is wrong with your body. It means moonScan could not read the signal confidently enough.

8. Can I delete my scan data?

Yes. You can request deletion of your personal data by contacting viktor@moonlightokuliare.sk or using account deletion tools if available.

Some data may be retained where required for legal, tax, security, or dispute reasons.

9. Can my employer, insurer, or another company see my scan?

No, not through the consumer moonScan service.

We do not provide your individual scan results to employers, insurers, lenders, or similar third parties for decision-making unless you explicitly authorize a legally reviewed use case.

10. Our trust position

We believe camera-based recovery technology should be:

  • consent-based;
  • transparent;
  • privacy-preserving;
  • non-diagnostic unless legally cleared;
  • easy to pause;
  • easy to delete;
  • honest about uncertainty.

moonScan is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
